WHAT IS THE CHURCH?
In Acts 1:8, Jesus made two things clear: the disciples would receive the Holy Spirit and be witnesses. The church at its basic form is the gathering of Jesus’s disciples, who have received the Holy Spirit through faith in Christ and are witnesses to the world about Him. When we believe in Jesus Christ as our Savior, we receive the Holy Spirit to dwell with us forever. We are eternally saved, made into a new person, and become part of God’s people. In response, we go and tell others about Jesus also. This series is a look at who we are to be as the church, God’s witnesses in this world.
But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come on you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.
