Nicaragua: Mission Trip Report

A team of five from Jersey just returned home from a week-long mission trip to Nicaragua. Hear from Team Leader Todd Smeltzer about the trip and how God was at work!

"The Lord was indeed faithful to do a great work in and through the Nicaragua Mission Team.

We worked with an organization called Chosen Children Ministries that offers mission opportunities through 27 church plants. The church and community we served was in Rene Nunez, a barrio of around 1,000 people located just west of Managua, the capital of Nicaragua.

In the mornings, some of our team did door-to-door evangelism, others offered a medical clinic, and the rest worked on building a small home for a family from the church. In the afternoons we offered a VBS for about 75 kids and a Bible study for another 45 adults. Overall, we witnessed a few adults and a few kids accept Christ, along with many others who were blessed with food and medical treatment.

Another highlight was gathering at the house the team built to dedicate it and to bless the family with house warming gifts. Watching how grateful they were for a house the size of a small bedroom was a site to behold.

Thank you for all your prayers and support! It was evident that the Lord went before us and was present with us every step of the way!"
