Mission Trip Report: Alaska
September 01, 2025
After a long journey and a late-night arrival in Central Europe, our team hit the ground running with anticipation for all that God had in store. From the very beginning, we were welcomed with warm hospitality, good food, and new friendships with our local partners. The weekend gave us time to prepare classrooms, get acquainted with the student leaders, and join in a beautiful outdoor worship service with our partner church.
Crazy Camp began with excitement as campers filled the schoolyard with laughter and games. Each day brought opportunities to teach English lessons, lead workshops, and join in camp activities that ranged from scavenger hunts to Gaga ball to the much-anticipated messy games. We adapted quickly to the students’ strong English skills, finding creative ways to challenge them while also building genuine relationships. Even more meaningful were the times of Gospel teaching and small group conversations where seeds of faith were planted and young hearts were invited to know Jesus more deeply.
Beyond the classroom and camp activities, God blessed us with rich times of fellowship with our local teammates. Shared meals, laughter, late-night debriefs, games, and devotional times deepened our unity as one body of Christ. Teaching American football, exploring the Vietnamese district, eating Chinese and local meals, and even relaxing on paddle boats along the Vltava River gave space for friendships to grow. Our nightly devotionals reminded us to stay rooted in Christ, trust Him through challenges, and embrace the ways He was shaping each of us through the week.
As the week came to a close, we celebrated with campers and their families at a final barbecue, reflecting on all that God had done. We were encouraged by conversations with Honza, Kuba, and other leaders about the long-term ministry in the area and how we might continue to support it even from afar. The final days were spent exploring the city, taking in its rich history, and enjoying one last adventure with our new friends. From climbing Petrin Hill to crossing the Charles Bridge to cheering at a European fútbol match, we ended the trip grateful for God’s daily provision of strength, joy, and connection.
As we return home, our hearts are full of gratitude for all that God accomplished through this trip. We’ve witnessed His faithfulness in every moment—through meaningful conversations, laughter-filled games, and the growth of relationships across cultures. This week was a powerful reminder that the Gospel knows no borders and that even small acts of service can have an eternal impact. We leave Central Europe encouraged, inspired, and hopeful, trusting that the seeds planted during this week will continue to grow in the lives of campers, leaders, and our team alike.
