WHAT IS a discipleship cohort?

A Discipleship Cohort is a closed group of 2-4 believers of the same gender who meet weekly for approximately 12 months to walk through our Discipleship Pathway Curriculum together - growing in maturity and being equipped to be sent out toward their Kingdom Movement.

HOW DO I FIND A discipleship cohort?

Discipling others is the fourth step on our Discipleship Pathway of WORSHIP, GROUP, SERVE, DISCIPLE. Groups and Serve Teams, which form out of our Worship Services, are where friendships are built and trust is formed. As people develop those bonds, some will sense the Lord prompting them to take the next step and begin an intentional discipleship journey together in a Cohort..

If you'd like to join a Cohort, talk with your Grow Group Leader about your interest or email  .

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A GROUP AND A cohort?

In biblical terms, we see Jesus modeling our present-day version of Groups with His twelve disciples, and a Cohort as He pulls Peter, James, and John even closer. Groups are open environments for community and biblical teaching. Cohorts are closed, intentional discipleship environments where a few committed believers walk through a guided curriculum side by side.

WHY SHOULD I JOIN A cohort?

Every believer is called to grow in maturity and live on mission. But few people have ever been intentionally discipled or experienced the depth of transformation that comes from walking closely with a few others over time. Cohorts provide the structure, accountability, and curriculum needed for accelerated spiritual growth - and they end with a clear sending point, so you don't just stay in a group indefinitely; you finish equipped and ready for what God has next.

WHAT IS THE END GOAL of A cohort?

Cohorts begin with the end in mind. Our Foundations course is a 12-month journey, and at the end, members are sent out to live on mission, disciple their families, lead in their workplaces, and serve the local church. Those who want to go deeper can re-up for the next level of content as it becomes available. The goal isn't to keep meeting forever - it's to grow, finish, and go.

WHERE DO I BEGIN?

Start with discovering where you are on our path. Are you attending a Worship Service regularly? Have you connected with a Group? Have you found a Serve Team to bless others? If those rhythms are in place, prayerfully consider who you might invite into a Cohort with you, then reach out to us.

How do Cohorts get started?

Cohorts begin organically. You find 2-3 other believers of the same gender who want to walk through the content with you, then email . We'll set your Cohort up, provide the curriculum, and support you as you launch.

WHAT IS THE TIME COMMITMENT?

Cohorts meet weekly for 45-60 minutes over the course of 12 months for the Foundations course. When you're able to meet, you'll stay engaged by keeping up with the reading and sharing prayer requests with your Cohort. There may also be times you share life together, serve alongside one another, or practice discipleship outside your normal meeting.

WHERE AND WHEN DO cohorts MEET?

Some meet in homes, others meet in public spaces, or at the church. When your Cohort meets is up to the people in it - early morning, lunch, evening, or weekends all work. What matters is consistency.

Who should I invite into my Cohort?

Pray and watch for believers who are faithful, available, interested in growing, teachable, and have a heart for God. As you cross paths with people like this, invite them to coffee, share what you see in them, and ask if they'd be willing to read Scripture, pray, and work through our discipleship curriculum alongside you and a few others.

WHAT HAPPENS DURING a Cohort meeting?

Cohort meetings center on Scripture, prayer, and guided curriculum. A typical meeting includes:

1. Open by sharing a high and low from the week, then pray together
2. Discuss what God has been teaching each of you through your reading
3. Work through that week's curriculum content together
4. Talk through how you're applying what you're learning
5. Commit to next steps for application and personal evangelism

WHAT CURRICULUM do Cohorts USE?

Our Foundations Course is a 12-month guided curriculum covering seven core areas: Spiritual Formation, Bible Fluency, Spiritual Design, Evangelism, Relationships, Leadership, and Emotionally Healthy Spirituality. Each Cohort works through the content together, with Scripture reading and prayer woven throughout. Additional sections of content will be added for those who want to continue deeper after Foundations.

What happens when a Cohort finishes?

This is what makes our Discipleship Pathway distinct - there's a finish line. When your Cohort completes the Foundations Course, you celebrate what God has done, and each person prayerfully discerns their next step. For many, that's being sent out to disciple others, lead in ministry, or live on missions in a new way. For others, it's re-upping into the next tier of content to keep going deeper. Either way, you don't stagnate - you finish, and you go..
