John Hays served as the Senior Pastor of Jersey Baptist Church since 1981 until his retirement in the fall of 2023. Pastor John and his wife, Jan, have two children, John Conrad Hays, who lives and works in Grand Rapids, MI, and Elizabeth, married to Ben Curtis, with 3 grandbabies, Hannah and Silas, and Malachi. Elizabeth and her family reside in Grand Rapids, MI.
