Steve Hopkins
Steve was raised in a Christian home and accepted Jesus as his Savior at a young age. Steve and Denise have been married for 45 years. They have two daughters and seven fantastic grandchildren. Mike and Charissa Fee and their three children are involved at Jersey Church. Drew and Sarah Smythe serve internationally with their four children and enjoy staying at the Jersey mission house when stateside. Denise retired from teaching, and in 2014, Steve and Denise “downsized” and moved to Pataskala. During Steve’s senior year in high school, he experienced a call to gospel ministry. He received the M.Div. and D. Min. degrees at Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. Steve served as pastor for twenty-two years. His last pastorate was at Whitehall Baptist Church. In 1997, Steve joined the staff of the State Convention of Baptists in Ohio. He currently serves as senior staff responsible for convention relations and prayer ministry. Steve’s life verse is John 15:16 “You did not choose me, but I chose you. I appointed you to go and produce fruit and that your fruit should remain, so that whatever you ask the Father in my name, he will give you.”
