Joseph Brereton
The oldest of three boys, I had the privilege of being raised by a father who was a bi-vocational pastor. My parents were models of service and faith in God long before I recognized the value of either. My personal faith became real during a trip out west in the summer between my junior and senior year of high school. While attending Moody Bible Institute in Chicago I was hoping to find a wife like a girl “Ali” that I had grown up with in youth group. Finally getting smart, I married Ali in 1997. Sixteen years later, God gave us our miracle Christmas son Samuel. We are small business owners and have lived in Granville for 18 years and began attending JBC in 2015. Ali and I have served God’s church in leadership at an intercity interracial church plant in Columbus, International Ministries, Children’s Ministry, Small group Bible Study, RD groups, Awana, Journey, etc. My friend Tim taught me that success in life can be found by this instruction: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.” (Prov 3:5-6) That is the goal.
Joseph has been nominated by Church Council for a 3-year term (expiring December 31, 2026)
